The DL2 wiper has been designed for use on wide and deep screens, replacing power through the previous cable rack.
Model DL2 is based on the original DR2 design, but instead of a connecting rod and cable rack, it transmits power through a rotating crank on the spindle of the main gear, to the connecting links.
These drive the spindles via drop arms. The amount of oscillatory movement of the linkage mechanism and consequently angle of the wipe, is determined by the length of the crank. It also incorporates a self switching device in the gearbox cover.
The variable speed DL2 closely resembles the single speed version, except that one of the motor field leads has been brought out separately, instead of being connected internally.
The 89SA switch is used to switch the wiper on and off. It also provides speed control by means of variable resistance (0-10 ohms)
